Yaoundé Retreat of 21 April 2013

This Sunday 21 April, the traditional monthly retreat day of the Word of God group of the Yaoundé Zone was held at Don Bosco.

After the introduction of the day given by Mama Agnès Onemboté, there followed a first teaching delivered by Tadong Léonel on the theme of resurrection in love for one's neighbor. A second teaching came after the first. It was given by Robex Naoussi on the theme of evangelization. When one truly realizes the presence of God in one's life, when one has truly encountered God, it is difficult to remain silent, not to proclaim him. Mama Ngueleu Claire gave a life testimony following it.

It was well after some meditation songs that the « Instruments for All » operation to renew the zone's orchestra was launched. In great excitement, the group leaders came one after another  to invite their members and any potential  supporters in the hall to come and support them. Beforehand, they gave the amount pledged and then what they had already contributed, all while urging the assembly to help them reach their goals. The total amount contributed  that day was 1,820,960 FCFA, and the overall sum collected for this fundraiser is 2,014,760 FCFA.

The evangelization on stage, the meal, the announcements, the confessions and the Mass (said by Father Paul and Father Fernando) marked the remaining time. The services were active and played their role well.

NB : The children were supervised by Longè Bayemi and his team. They joined us during the collection. Likewise, while considering the effort made by all, we also noted two extremes : first, the Catholic University Center which passed the 300,000 FCFA mark at the collection, and the Men's service number 2 which gave a total sum of 60,000 FCFA.

The day ended at 4 PM with a participation of 749 people.
