Henri Bayemi (affectionately known as Papa Henri) was born on 11 April 1960 in Matomb, the son of Charles Bayemi and Marthe Ngo Pougue (Mama Martha). He is the second of five children. After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in zoology from the University of Yaoundé, he began his professional career in 1984 at the Agricultural Research Institute for Development (IRAD).
He holds a Master of Science degree in animal science from the University of Reading in England. Following a PhD at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, he was promoted to the rank of Research Director at IRAD.
A Catholic Christian, in 1996 he founded the Movement of the Incarnation (the ‘Word of God’ Groups), an ecclesial movement present across four continents in more than 20 countries, and became its first General Director.
He is the father of five (05) children.
