Live Charity

A homeless man by the side of the road pleads with a well-dressed lady, saying: 'Madam! I have not eaten for three days.' The lady replies: 'Well now! You must make an effort; when you have no appetite, you have to force yourself.'

LESSON
During the season of Lent that begins soon, perform acts of charity. (Tobit 4:7-10). Give alms from your possessions, and do not turn your face away from any poor person; for so it will come to pass that the face of the Lord will not be turned away from you. Be charitable in whatever way you can. If you have much, give abundantly; if you have little, take care to give of that little with a cheerful heart. For you will store up for yourself a great reward for the day of need.
