The Mercy of God, 2 Samuel 12:1-17
Every day that we spend on this earth is a grace from the Lord. God loves us so much and expects us to respond to this call, for when two people love each other, they expect that love to be mutual.Lent is a period of 40 days during which we must love our Lord even more. We must make the most of each of these days without losing a single one. To this end, we must no longer pick and choose which meetings or retreats of the group to attend.
When you are a Christian, the devil also becomes very clever and no longer pushes you toward mortal sin, for he knows the degree of your faith and instead pushes you toward venial sins. The devil exists and constantly tries to draw us away from the Lord. Each of us knows what he must correct during this Lent. Sin is the only evil that is corrected by weeping. 2 Samuel 12:16 « David pleaded with God, weeping, on behalf of the child » do not be ashamed to weep. Let us weep for our sins as King David did, for we have disappointed the Lord and he bleeds.
Brothers and sisters, let us not take these 40 days lightly; let us make a good start by imposing on ourselves a strict discipline. (1 Cor 9:24-27). Do not leave this Lent as you entered it, but rather do as David did and sincerely ask the Lord for forgiveness, and you too will be blessed as he was. Let us evangelize and share with our friends, our neighbors, our brothers the joy of the Lord, helping them too to live their Lent well. Will you let this Lent pass by like the previous ones?
